Day trip from Paris Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Park and Disney Adventure World at Marne-la-Vallée, about 40 minutes from Châtelet-Les Halles on RER A, with the station 2 minutes from the gates.
Is Disneyland Paris worth a day trip from Paris?
Go. The whole day, by RER.
Yes, and it takes the whole day. RER A runs from Châtelet-Les Halles to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy in about 40 minutes, and the station is a 2-minute walk from both park gates, so you do not need a coach. The real cost is the ticket. The standard price at the gate is € 139 for one park and € 174 for two, and gate sales are restricted, so buy a dated ticket online before you travel. The tour starts at € 136 with coach and park entry, less than the gate price plus the train. Compare it with the dated ticket for your day.

What to see and do in Disneyland Paris
- 01
Disneyland Park
The original park, with five lands around Sleeping Beauty Castle. Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and Phantom Manor are the classic rides. A full day does not cover everything.
- 02
Disney Adventure World
The second park, renamed in March 2026, with Marvel and Pixar areas and the new World of Frozen beside a lake. It is smaller, and 4 to 5 hours covers the main rides.
- 03
Rides for teenagers
Hyperspace Mountain and the Indiana Jones coaster in the main park, Avengers Assemble: Flight Force and the Tower of Terror in the second. Single-rider lines cut the wait on several of them.
- 04
Night show on the castle
A show of projections, fountains and fireworks on the castle at closing time. People claim spots on Main Street 45 to 60 minutes before it starts.
- 05
Disney Village
A free-entry strip of shops and restaurants between the station and the park gates, open later than the parks. It is useful for dinner while the crowds leave.

How to spend the day
Check the opening time for your date first, it changes through the year. Leave Châtelet-Les Halles by 8:15 on an RER A train whose final stop is Marne-la-Vallée Chessy and be at the gates around 9:00. Queue for the busiest rides before 11:00, eat at 11:30 or after 14:00, and keep the parade and the shows for the afternoon. Stay until closing if you can. With the tour, the coach leaves the visitors' car park at 21:00.
Disneyland Paris in summer and in winter
Summer
June to AugustJuly and August bring the longest hours, with the main park open until 22:30 or 23:00, and the longest queues: 60 to 90 minutes for headline rides at midday. Shade is scarce in the queues. Ride early and late, and spend 13:00 to 16:00 on indoor shows and lunch. The night show ends late, so check the last RER A before you stay for it.
Winter
December to FebruaryOpen every day. January to mid-February, outside school holidays, has the shortest waits of the year, but the main park may close at 21:00 or earlier and some rides shut for maintenance. From mid-November to early January the Christmas season brings decorations, a parade and very heavy crowds. Many queues are outdoors, so dress for standing still at 5 °C.
How crowded it gets
Very busy- Busiest
- School holidays, weekends, Halloween and Christmas seasons, 11:00-17:00
- Quietest
- Tuesday to Thursday in January, early February, mid-March and mid-September
Arrive 30 minutes before opening and do the two rides you care most about first. Use the official app for live waits. Queues drop during the parade and in the last hour. Paid fast-lane access is sold ride by ride.
How do you get to Disneyland Paris from Paris?
RER A
- Travel time
- About 40 min + 2 min walk
- Cost
- € 5.10 return
- Departs from
- Châtelet-Les Halles; also Charles de Gaulle-Étoile, Auber, Gare de Lyon and Nation
RER A splits east of Paris, so take a train whose final stop is Marne-la-Vallée Chessy, not Boissy-Saint-Léger. Chessy is the last stop and the gates are 2 minutes away on foot. Load the return ticket in Paris: everyone leaves the parks at the same time after the night show.

Organized tour
- Travel time
- 10 to 12.5 hours door to door
- Cost
- From € 136
- Departs from
- 14 rue Jean Rey near the Eiffel Tower, Place de l'Opéra, Gare du Nord or Bercy
A coach from one of four meeting points and a ticket for one or two parks, chosen when you book. No guide: you are on your own inside. The coach leaves the visitors' car park at 21:00 and reaches Paris between 21:40 and 22:00, so you cannot leave early.

Practical: clothes, food and money
What to wear
Trainers for 15 km of walking. A rain poncho beats an umbrella in queues. In winter add a hat, gloves and thermal layers. In summer bring a cap, sunscreen and a refillable bottle for the water fountains in both parks.
What to eat
Park food is fast food and themed buffets at high prices, with queues from 12:00 to 14:00. You may bring sandwiches and snacks. Eat before 11:45 or after 14:30, or order ahead in the app at counters that offer it. Table-service restaurants need booking well ahead.
What you will spend
The park ticket is the main cost and it is priced by date: weekdays outside school holidays are the cheapest, and a ticket for both parks costs more than one. Transport by RER A is minor by comparison. Food, fast-lane access, photos and souvenirs are all optional, and they add up fast.
How to get the most out of the day
- Take RER A to Marne-la-Vallée Chessy, the last stop, about 40 minutes from Châtelet-Les Halles. Trains to Boissy-Saint-Léger are on the wrong branch.
- Buy dated tickets online in advance. Prices at the gate are higher, and the parks can sell out on peak days.
- With one day and small children, stay in Disneyland Park. Add the second park only if everyone has the energy for both.
- Check the list of closed rides on the official site the week before. Refurbishments are scheduled mostly from January to March.
